In one of my previous posts, I was debating on whether to buy a theme or not. I mean, I could have found a different magazine theme for free…but I really liked this one and it was almost exactly what I envisioned.

It was advertised for $79 and that’s what was holding me back. On a whim, I looked for some sort of discount code and guess what – I found one for 25% off. So now it was $59. I couldn’t not buy it now.

Anyway, I got it and now I’m working on developing the site. Click here for the work in progress that is: Daily Actor.

I’m kind of envisioning a newspaper style/Drudge Report type of theme but couldn’t find any theme that I really liked or that was free. I didn’t want it to look lame.

Then, I happened upon a theme last night that I really love – but it cost’s $79.

Now I’m torn… do I buy it or continue with my current theme and just not be as enthused?

I have a problem in that I want everything perfect before I make it known to the world but I just didn’t want to wait any longer. I have forums on there and that was my main issue. I had never put forums on a site so there was a little learning curve. I still need to monetize it a little more but that’s the easy part.

I’m planning on marketing this site. I’ll do some Google and Yahoo ads (I have some free credits via GoDaddy) and I’m also going to buy some moo cards and leave them all over LA. Don’t know what moo cards are? Check them out! I love them. They’re like little business cards but much, much cooler.

It’ll be a while though. I want to get at least 20 posts under my belt. I’ve been finding that 20 posts is about the norm to get you’re groove with a site.
