At least from my point of view. I've had them on 2 of my sites since January and I've made a whopping total of: $1.63 Yup. I'm sure people are making money on this but I just didn't want it taking up real estate on my site anymore. I wonder if I can get a check for $1.63? [+]To Buy a Theme or Not To Buy A Theme.
I've stopped posting to my acting site, Daily Actor, for a while now. I'm kind of envisioning a newspaper style/Drudge Report type of theme but couldn't find any theme that I really liked or that was free. I didn't want it to look lame. Then, I happened upon a theme last night that I really love - but it cost's $79. Now I'm torn... do I buy it or continue with my current theme and [+]New Look. New Direction.
It's been a while since I've posted! I went back east to visit family... all the while having full intentions of posting while I was away. But every time I opened up my laptop and attempted to type I just couldn't think of anything on topic. Since this site started, it was basically a throw away site initially dedicated to my experience blogging. That then morphed into adding technology reviews. I had been hearing a ton of stuff about EntreCard lately so I decided to sign up and try it out. Since I have more than one site, I created 2 accounts. One for this website and another for CatPuppy. I created my little 125x125 icons and hit the ground. The first thing I noticed on both accounts was that the same 7 or so people immediately asked to advertise on my widget. Well, I now have a page rank 1 on all 3 of my sites that I started in January. Awesome! I don't even know if thats a good pace for a page 1 or not but I'm still happy. How did I do it? I concentrated on good posts (hopefully!), finding no follow blogs in my sites niche and sending my articles to social bookmarking sites. This still hasn't translated into any higher revenue on any of my sites [+]Daily Actor is up and running
After months of sitting on my butt, I finally put Daily Actor live last week. I have a problem in that I want everything perfect before I make it known to the world but I just didn't want to wait any longer. I have forums on there and that was my main issue. I had never put forums on a site so there was a little learning curve. I still need to monetize it a little [+]Wanna see how much your site is “worth”?
I found this site earlier today - dnscoop.com. It's really cool. Type in your site's url and it tell's you the value of your website. My site is already $140,000! Just kidding. Test it out on your favorite sites. My Web host, Dreamhost, has a new service where you can host your e-mail on Google. Since I have several sites, I thought funneling all my e-mail accounts into one service would be much easier than to log onto 4 e-mail accounts every day.
